"I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge..."
1 Corinthians 1:4-5

I love the part of this verse that says "enriched in everything..." The Greek word for "enriched" literally means "luxuriously rich"! When the world makes us feel bad because we don't have enough money, or we don't have the right education, or we don't look a certain way, talk a certain way, blah blah blah; it doesn't matter because we have everything we need in Christ!

Jesus has not only given us all we need, He has lavished it upon us. Wisdom. Peace. Joy. Strength. Understanding. Answered prayer. He promises us these things, and more, when we follow Him. We trade in the nasty junk of this world for the eternal riches of Christ when we receive salvation. Material wealth can't give us any lasting fulfillment because we are created for the eternal.

My favorite verse in the Bible is John 10:10, which says:

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have [it] more abundantly."

The enemy offers us the things of this world to our own determent. His only desire is to draw us away from God, and in doing so, make our lives miserable. Don't be cheated out of the glorious riches you have in Jesus. Follow Him, love Him, keep His commandments and enjoy the blessings of knowing Christ.
